Cumbria Furniture Restoration is owned and run by Rob Betton.
Rob uses traditional specialist techniques on all work.
- City and Guilds woodwork bench craft (Carlisle College 3 years practical and theory).
- Previous to Buckinghamshire was at Glasgow college of Building Printing and Design, for three years
- 30 years plus practical knowledge.
- Taught marquetry techniques from French specialist expert and restoration conservation knowledge technique from museum curator/conservator based in London.

Brief description:
- cleaned out all degraded/ missing areas, cut out new turtle shell to replace missing areas, coloured it red & glued back in place.
- Cut new brass to replace missing brass and hand engrave.
- Ebonize (recolour black areas) cut and relay new green baise felt.
- Clean and conserve the ormalou decorative figures on legs.
- French polish all areas to finish.
